Vitamin D can also be obtained by your diet and/or supplements, however research has shown that people who opted for putting a layer of sunscreen on or obtained the vitamin thru diet and/or supplements did not live as long as those who bared their skin to the sun. Now, no one has said to go out and burn yourself to a crisp, they merely explain that even less than 20 minutes a few times a week would give you the truest form of the vitamin that you can receive naturally.
So, today I am asking all of you for your opinions. What do you think is the safest and most beneficial way of getting that all important sunshine vitamin? I personally crave the sun! I live in the North East and have previously had been Vitamin D deficient. So, I do tend to bare my skin for that short amount of time during our quick summers here. And when days get shorter and we see less and less of the sun, I start taking Vitamin D supplements, to make sure I do have enough of the vitamin in me. Tell me, are you going to bare that skin or are you going to cover up? Either way, just make sure that you get that vitamin D one way or another, because Your Wellness Counts!
