Sodium Fluoride, Propylene Glycol and Triclosan are three of the ingredients that cause a lot controversy. United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) classifies triclosan as a pesticide, stating it poses a risk to both human health and the environment. Scientists categorize triclosan as a chlorophenol, which is a type of chemical suspected of causing cancer in humans. Propylene Glycol is also an active component in antifreeze . Material Safety Data Sheets for propylene glycol warn that the chemical can be rapidly absorbed through the skin, with prolonged contact leading to brain, liver and kidney abnormalities. Last but not least by any means, is the Sodium Fluoride. In addition to being the primary ingredient in rat and cockroach poisons, it is also a main ingredient in anesthetic, hypnotic, and psychiatric drugs as well as military NERVE GAS!
The warning label on the back of toothpaste tubes actually say, " If more than amount used for brushing is swallowed, get medical help or contact poison control right away." The size of a pea is what the directions say. You are also not suppose to rinse your mouth out with water after you are done brushing. Many dentists recommend not rinsing so the fluoride can keep working. Let's see here, you have some options. If you spit and don't rinse, you get more so called benefits. If you spit and rinse, you are luckily not having more of those toxins being absorbed thru your mouth and into your body. Or you could always make your own homemade natural toothpaste. So my question to all of you, Do you make your own, spit or do you swallow?
